Lake Charles Memorial Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy in our Ambulatory Care Cancer Center, located on the first floor in the rear of the main campus and inpatient Medical Oncology Unit, located on the 4th floor of the main hospital.  We have created a compassionate, family atmosphere with a specially trained staff  of nurses who meet not only the medical needs, but the emotional needs of both the patients and their families.
Inpatient care includes chemotherapy and diagnostic preparation. We also have rooms specifically designed for patients receiving radiation implants. Chemotherapy is also available on an outpatient basis, as well as blood transfusions and other nursing-related care for oncology patients.

Our Hematology/Oncology physicians and nurses are pioneering care for patients who undergo chemotherapy. Anti-nausea drugs and other methods are used to diminish the side effects of therapy. There are now ways to minimize irritation at the site of drug administration, diminish low blood counts and reduce weakness and fatigue.

The nurses, physicians, social workers and other members of our cancer care team work together to provide the highest quality of care meeting in a weekly conference to coordinate the integrated care of cancer patients.

Our Ambulatory Cancer Center onsite on the first floor in the rear of our main campus, provides an easy drop-off point for patients.
