The Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Unit of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital consists of ten semi-private beds.  The primary focus is acute care, crisis stabilization and psychiatric treatment of school age to adolescent children; 18 year olds are included if they are currently enrolled in high school.  The services provided include psychiatric assessment, group education, individual sessions, family sessions, psychological services, nutritional services, activities services and psychopharmacology services. Other disciplines may be consulted as needed.  The adult staff consists of Psychiatrists, RNs, LPNs, Mental Health Techs, Case Managers and Certified Activities Personnel.  RNs are strongly encouraged to acquire and maintain Mental Health Certification and Child and Adolescent Certification.
