The Family Birth Center functions to provide mothers, newborn babies and their families with quality obstetrical, gynecological, non-infectious surgical and medical patient care. The staff practices family-centered maternity care with Mother/baby couplet assignments.  The Family Birth Center consists of 24 private labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum (LDRP) rooms and an eight-bed Baby Lounge.

Adjacent to the Family Birth Center is the Early Labor Evaluation Center.  The unit consist of three rooms with a primary focus on the outpatient obstetrical patient's needs.

Staffing is based on patient census utilizing Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) standards.  Staffing consists of RNs, LPNs, NAs and unit Techs.  National certification for RNs is encouraged.  All nursing staff members are NRP certified and must take a basic fetal monitoring course within the first year of employment.  Primary Labor and Delivery Nurses are required to have ACLS certification.  Advanced fetal monitoring courses are encouraged, as well as national certification.  This area is under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing at the Women’s Campus.
